- Food Services
We organize pick-up and sort food donations to provide food boxes for those of qualifying need in our communities each month. Pick-up times are Tuesday or Friday 9 am to 12 noon each week. We also deliver to one of our local apartment areas for some who are unable to come in and pick-up food. We can assist people with signing up for food stamps in our Galax office.
- Crisis Relief
We assist those who have experienced an unforeseeable crisis, such as a house fire, with food, clothing and temporary housing as funds allow.
- Clothing
We give clothing to those in the community who need assistance and qualify. They are allowed to come in and pick out a certain number of outfits for themselves and their immediate family members.
- Other
In the past, we have assisted with heating and electric bills, prescription drug costs and transportation to and from medical appointments. We still do this as funds allow on a case by case basis. We hope to increase our
fundraising efforts enough in 2011 to be able to open a separate and individual program fund for these purposes in 2012.
